Akron Police Chief Steve Mylett has said that the officers who shot Jayland Walker dead have had bounties placed on their heads. During a press conference prior to Walker's funeral, Chief Mylett was asked by a reporter why the names of the officers who killed the 25-year-old have not been publicly identified. He said that the city has a long history of not providing the names of officers involved in shootings. Mylett added: 'Look, the challenge right now is there's been bounties placed on police officers' heads.' The chief said that it was his department's duty to protect not only the community, but his officers and their families.'
