A New York man who was injured on a Turkish Airlines flight that hit serious turbulence before it landed at JFK filed suit against the airline on Monday.

Lawyers for Sead Nikaj, of Forest Hills, claim in the civil suit filed in the Eastern District of New York that he was permanently and seriously injured during the rocky flight on March 9.

The suit claims that the National Aviation Weather Center had warned pilots that there was severe turbulence over New England on the night of the flight, but the pilots decided to fly through it anyway.

The flight crew also failed to warn passengers on the flight of the impending turbulence, sending many of them tumbling through the cabin, according to the suit.

Nikaj, who is represented by law firm Bohrer & Lukeman, is seeking a jury trial for a to-be-determined amount of money, according to the suit.

Turkish Airlines did not immediately respond to request for comment.
