The recall of a Similac baby-formula powder has been expanded after the death of a second infant who was fed it, federal officials say. Manufacturer Abbott Nutrition widened its recall of the formula, which was made at a Sturgis, Mich., factory and distributed in the US and Israel, according to the Food and Drug Administration. The move comes as the FDA said Monday that it is probing another fatal case of Cronobacter sakazakii infection involving an infant fed the Abbott Similac PM 60/40 formula with a lot code of 27032K800.
