The senior Republican lawmaker who lunged toward fellow Rep. during a tense moment on the floor of the House of Representatives on Friday night is stepping down from a top committee post, it was reported on Monday.Alabama Rep. Mike Rogers told Politico he was stepping down from the House Republican steering panel - which is responsible for assigning committee posts to other GOP lawmakers. Rogers, who's expected to chair the House Armed Services Committee, reportedly said the decision was his own and that he was free to change his mind.
