Nepalese rescuers have launched a desperate helicopter search for a famed US ski climber, one day after she fell into a deep crevasse on the world's eighth-highest mountain. Celebrated mountaineer and mother-of-two Hilaree Nelson, 49, disappeared on Monday morning while skiing down Mount Manaslu with her boyfriend, Jim Morrison. Morrison, who previously lost his wife and their two young children in a 2011 plane crash, continued skiing down to base camp to report her missing, but bad weather initially hampered search-and-rescue efforts.
