Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott has edited his plan that called for sunsetting all federal legislation, adding exemptions for Social Security and Medicare, after used it as a political attack. An updated version of Scott's '' plan says: 'All federal legislation sunsets in 5 years, with specific exceptions of Social Security, Medicare, national security, veterans benefits, and other essential services.' Scott has been at war with President Joe Biden for more than a week, after the president used this policy proposal that the senator suggested during the 2022 campaign to take on the entire Republican during his State of the Union speech.
