Rick Scott now insists GOP won't sunset Medicare, Social Security

Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott has edited his plan that called for sunsetting all federal legislation, adding exemptions for Social Security and Medicare, after used it as a political attack.

An updated version of Scott's '' plan says: 'All federal legislation sunsets in 5 years, with specific exceptions of Social Security, Medicare, national security, veterans benefits, and other essential services.'

Scott has been at war with President Joe Biden for more than a week, after the president used this policy proposal that the senator suggested during the 2022 campaign to take on the entire Republican during his State of the Union speech.
