In the meantime, the immortal line of Her Late Majesty remains as true as ever: ‘Recollections may vary.’Certainly, the Sussexes’ depiction of as a sweet but powerless puppet, operating at the mercy of darker, superior forces, is a recollection that does not just vary with those of numerous people who knew the late Queen very well indeed. They regard it as both demeaning and, like so much else in this series, wrong.
