Russia has set Ukraine a list of conditions it must meet to halt the fighting as a third round of peace talks between the two sides ended without a resolution overnight. In order to stop the bloody conflict, the Kremlin says Ukraine must cease military action, agree to acknowledge Crimea as Russian territory and never to join NATO. Russia also demanded Ukraine recognise the separatist republics of Donetsk and Lugansk as independent states. All these conditions have previously been rejected by the Ukrainian Government.
