Sabres rink-side announcer Rob Ray takes puck off his forehead

Before Rob Ray was a hockey announcer, he was a hockey player, which is why the 55-year-old continued to work Monday night after taking a puck off his forehead during the Buffalo Sabres' 5-2 win over the visiting Coyotes.

Ray was serving as the on-ice analyst standing rink-side between the two benches at Buffalo's KeyBank Center when a puck was deflected towards his face.

The former Sabres right winger appeared to be looking down at his notes in the split-second before impact, which is why the puck caught him off guard, directly between the eyes.
