Sailor drunkenly 'sexually assaulted a female US Navy sailor

A Royal Navy sailor sexually assaulted a female US sailor after downing beers and margaritas whilst they were stationed on a remote island together, a court martial has heard.

Leading Seaman Paul Morby allegedly had a shower in the woman's bathroom before telling her to lie down with him whilst they were both stationed on Diego Garcia in the British Indian Ocean Territory.

The court heard the woman had invited him over in the afternoon after they met at a bar days before, but he did not turn up until 9.30pm drunk.
