The high-flying NHL playoff clash between the Stars and Avalanche came to a sudden halt when Dallas defender Lian Bichsel crashed into the boards head-first on Thursday night. During the second period of Game 6 of the Western Conference tilt, Bichsel attempted to get the puck out of the Stars' end of the ice when he got tangled with Colorado's Jack Drury. Both players fell to the ice, and slammed into the boards at a high speed. Drury had the presence of mind, and the body positioning to put his hands up to protect himself. Bischel had neither luxury.
