A shipwreck that experts have been studying for 18 years has finally been identified as an American whaler lost in 1859.New analysis of tree rings in the wreck's rotting timbers suggest it is the Dolphin, which sank off the coast of Argentina.Scientists used a ring database to show that the timbers were felled in New England and south east USA just before the 111-foot long (34 metre) ship was built in 1850.
