Plans from technology maven and rapper , who goes by Ye, to take over social media sites in a bid to promote free speech may have hit a snag, according to a poll about online content moderation.A YouGov survey this week found that Americans by wide margins want guard rails on their social media platforms and blocks on everything from harassment to hate speech, racism, conspiracy theories and fake news.Significantly, supporters of the two main parties are close on the issue. While 76 percent of want social media firms blocking hate speech, only a slightly slimmer margin of 66 percent of Republicans felt the same way.
