They're the ultimate sign of friendship for children, and now a new study suggests that friendship pendants date back all the way to the Stone Age.Researchers from the University of Helsinki claim that hunter-gatherers across northeast Europe gave each other ring fragments as a sign of their friendship 6,000 years ago.'These fragments of the same object may show the handprint and preferences of two individuals,' said Marja Ahola, who led the study.
