Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Sunisa Lee returned to the top of the podium on Friday night after clinching victory in her debut NCAA all-around competition, almost six months to the day after she claimed the top spot in the same event at the Tokyo Games. The 18-year-old, who is currently in her freshman year at Auburn University, put on a near-perfect performance to cement her win in the meet against rivals , helping to propel her team to victory over the opposing team with an impressive overall score of 39.700, just three tenths shy of a perfect result. Although Suni, who is originally from , has been competing at the college level for several weeks now, Friday night's event marked the first time that she has stepped up on all four events - vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor - and it is the first time that she has taken part in an all-around competition since her staggering success in in July.
