Supermassive black holes are known to be enormous objects that gobble up stars and spit out the cosmic remnants across the universe.But astronomers have now detected one that has such tremendous power it has produced one of the brightest displays ever seen — the equivalent of a scarcely believable one trillion suns. The remote object, dubbed 'Scary Barbie' in a nod to its 'absurd' and 'terrifying' characteristics, has already burned incandescently for more than two years and shows no sign of sputtering out.
