The Supreme Court released opinions in six cases Wednesday, but Americans were left waiting for a ruling in a closely watched case that could overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision that legalized abortion across the US.The six decisions handed down Wednesday involved veterans benefits, Medicare reimbursements and a dispute about gaming on tribal lands in Texas. One case that was not decided was Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. That case pertains to a Mississippi law that bans all abortions after 15 weeks, except in medical emergencies and fetal abnormality. Both sides of the dispute have insisted that the conservative-leaning court cannot leave the law in place without also overturning its Roe ruling.
