A journalist who helped uncover 's deceit of which led to an explosive Panorama interview says The Crown has been 'too kind' and claims the reality of the betrayal was 'far worse' than how it has been played out onscreen.Andy Webb, who has previously spoken out against the 's treatment of Princess Diana and spent years trying to get to the bottom of the infamous interview with Martin Bashir, praised The Crown's depiction of the incident overall but said there were a few aspects where it fell short of accurately portraying the 'wicked campaign of deceit'.Writing in Mr Webb said the scenes had been 'carefully researched' and showed how 'horrendous' the deception was, but fell short in depicting Bashir himself as the 'lone assassin who duped his bosses as thoroughly as the Princess herself'.
