South Dakota Sen. John Thune said Monday it was 'typical' for the Biden administration to be 'caught off guard' by the baby formula shortage. 'They didn't catch it on day one. And as typical in this administration, they want to blame somebody else, so they want to blame Abbott,' Thune said on Fox and Friends Monday morning. Thune placed blame on the Food and Drug Administration (), which forced Abbott's Sturgis, Mich. plant to shut down in February after two babies that drank its formula died from bacterial infections.
