Twenty three of America's top 500 public high schools are in New Jersey, including five that rank among the top 100, according to a new ranking.

U.S. News and World Report on Wednesday released its annual Best High Schools list, one of the most prominent national school rankings.

High Technology High School, a small Monmouth County academy with selective enrollment placed 22nd, the highest ranking among New Jersey schools.

What other schools made the cut? You'll find plenty of elite academies that require entrance exams as well as local high schools in some of the state's most affluent suburbs.
