The U.S. economy added 315,000 jobs in August - slightly below expectations - and the unemployment rate rose to 3.7%, nearly to pre-pandemic levels.The numbers indicate American employers slowed their hiring last month in the face of rising interest rates, high inflation and sluggish consumer spending, all of which have weakened the outlook for the economy.The August job numbers were down from the 526,000 jobs added in July and below the average gain of the previous three months.
