An man hooked on his vape experienced a dire health scare linked to the device when he began coughing up blood and landed himself in the intensive care unit.Dustin Fitzgerald, 45, of Clinton, Indiana was diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia due to a build-up of fluid in his lungs from puffing on the nicotine vape continuously for up to 12 hours a day for around ten months.He was inhaling excessive amounts of the oily substances found in e-liquid, which sparks an inflammatory response in the lungs. Vaping also hinders the respiratory system’s ability to respond to external threats, raising the risk of viral infections.
