Virginia homeowner shoots high school senior who knocked on his door

A homeowner has allegedly shot and killed a high school senior after the boy knocked on his door as part of a trend on Saturday, hours before his prom.

Tyler Chase Butler, 27, has been arrested for the murder of Michael Bosworth Jr., 18, on the doorstep of his home in rural Fredricksburg, 50 miles north of Richmond.

Bosworth was reportedly playing 'ding dong ditch' with two friends as part of a popular social media prank when Butler opened fire, also injuring another boy.
