Walgreens' parent company and CVS are the first major national pharmacy chains to say it will sell the abortion pill under the laid out by the Food and Drug Administration ().The new rules, which were issued Tuesday, allow any pharmacy to become certified to dispense mifepristone, which is the drug that blocks a hormone needed for a pregnancy to successfully take.The drug is FDA-approved for use up to 10 weeks into a pregnancy.
