A woman out walking her dog survived a bear attack after whacking the beast 'right in the nose,' suffering 'significant injuries' to her 'head and groin' area.The near-fatal attack on the 68-year-old victim, whose name was not released, happened Saturday at around 6.30am near the women's home located on Commercial Street in Leavenworth, an Alpine village located in the Cascade Mountains. During the surprise ambush, the woman was knocked to the ground when the bear charged at her. She courageously fought back by punching the female bear several times during the attack which when on for 10-15 terrifying seconds before she was able to break free and call for help.
