WH dodges: Biden hasn't spoken to DeSantis as storm heads to Florida

Joe Biden still hasn't spoken with Governor Ron DeSantis as a Category 3 hurricane heads for Florida, and his administration dodged questions on why the call hasn't happened ahead of the storm hitting landfall.

The president made separate calls to three Florida mayors, two Democrats and one Republican, but did not call the GOP governor as his state braces for Hurricane Ian to hit land this week.

Biden spoke with Republican Governors Kay Ivey of , Asa Hutchinson of and Greg Abbott of Texas when they were all also facing weather-related emergencies.
