The next surge in Covid cases could be around the corner, the (WHO) warns, just as the world starts to recover from and put the winter Omicron-fueled Covid surge into the past. Covid cases in the U.S. are dropping at a slowed rate and data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention () warns that wastewater data from certain parts of the country indicate an increase in cases could be around the corner.Last week, the WHO reports that global Covid cases increased eight percent to 11 million. The biggest jump was found in the western pacific region, where cases jumped 25 percent week-to-week. There was a 14 percent jump in Africa and two percent rise in Europe as well.
