The snow no longer felt cold. In fact, it felt warm and fluffy. I closed my eyes – and began to drift off.I was utterly exhausted. Frozen numb and low on oxygen at around 22,600ft up Everest’s Tibetan ascent.Surrounded by crevasses and treacherous drops, I stopped at an ice bed for rest, failing to realize how easily these mountains can claim lives.
