Yale University has surrendered 13 artifacts worth upwards of $1million to the Manhattan District Attorney's office after an investigation found they were looted from temples in and Burma. Some of the seized artifacts are linked to former art dealer Subhash Kapoor, who is accused of running a multinational antique smuggling ring from the late 70s until 2011, and is currently jailed in India. 'Yale University, having been presented with information indicating that works of art in its collections were stolen from their countries of origin, delivered the works to the New York District Attorney's Office, which will coordinate the objects' repatriation later this year,' the museum said in a statement on Wednesday.
