Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on Tuesday warned that eliminating abortion rights would damage the U.S. economy and 'set women back decades.''I believe that eliminating the right of women to make decisions about when and whether to have children would have very damaging effects on the economy and would set women back decades,' she said at a Banking Committee hearing. Yellen was asked about the draft opinion that indicated justices support overturning Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 case that legalized abortion, and the effect such a decision would have on the economy.
