Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday made an impassioned plea in English to “every free person on the planet” to hold protests against Russia’s invasion of his country.Zelensky spoke for nearly two minutes from a dark and empty Kyiv square about the significance of ordinary people around the world taking a stand against Russia’s four-week-old unprovoked war, which started on Feb. 24.“The war of Russia is not only the war against Ukraine; its meaning is much wider. Russia started the war against freedom as it is,” he said to the camera, while clad in his now trademark beige t-shirt and sweatshirt.
