An inmate set to be killed by the state said prison staff poked him with needles for more than an hour as they attempted to locate a vein during their initial attempt to end his life via lethal injection.Alan Eugene Miller, 57, said that in September, staff struggled to locate a vein in which to inject the lethal drug combination meant to end his life and left him hanging vertically on a gurney before officials made the decision to abort the execution attempt.Miller's legal team detailed the September 22 botched execution in a court filing.
