Psychologists should avoid using phrases such as 'you're nailing it' when trying to encourage patients because it could be interpreted as violent.That is according to a new psychology language manual that lists dozens of everyday phrases that should be swapped out for more 'inclusive' terms.Phrases such as 'take a shot at', 'target population' and 'you're killing it' should be avoided because they are microaggressions, the guide says.
