Americans who qualify for Supplement Security Income (SSI) can expect extra money this month because of the holidays. The Social Security Administration (SSA) issues SSI benefits to about 67 million people on the first of the month unless it falls on a weekend or federal holiday.SSI recipients will receive payments on December 1 and 29 since upcoming New Year's Eve and New Year's Day take place on Sunday and Monday.
