The average American spends almost $3,400 a year on their internet, phone, streaming and cable TV plans, a new study has revealed. That means that over a 60-year period, the typical American will end up shelling out over $200,000 on consumer media, according to by Reviews.org. A typical household spends approximately $975 a year on internet, $793 on a mobile plan, $660 on streaming services and $962 on cable TV, the study found, totaling $3,390.
