The White House said Monday that President Biden will meet virtually with Chinese leader Xi Jinping next month.
The announcement came after national security adviser Jake Sullivan on Monday confronted his Chinese counterpart about claims that Russia had sought military and economic assistance from Beijing to aid its invasion of Ukraine.
“Their meeting followed up on the November 15, 2021 virtual meeting between President Biden and President Xi. Mr. Sullivan raised a range of issues in U.S.-China relations, with substantial discussion of Russia’s war against Ukraine,” the White House said in a statement.
