Revelers in Newton gathered to celebrate Irish culture, heritage and the patron saint of Ireland Saturday afternoon. Newton's 15th annual St. Patrick's Day parade kicked off at 11:30 a.m. and traveled down Spring Street and ended in Memory Park.Betsy Sutherland led the parade as grand marshal and led past grand marshals, and members of local government, along the parade route.Various bands, floats, pipe and drum bands, and Irish step dancers entertained the crowd as they made their way through the streets. All of the proceeds from the parade will be donated to Birth Haven, a non-profit organization that provides shelter, support and education to pregnant homeless women.
