Blinken meets Netanyahu as U.S. ups calls for a 'humanitarian pause' -

Secretary of State Antony issued a public call to protect Palestinian civilians during a visit to Friday and called for making arrangements for 'humanitarian pauses' amid the fighting in .

Blinken spoke in after meeting with Israel's President , and said he raised the issue humanitarian pauses. He said the two discussed how to make sure doesn't uses such breaks 'to its own advantage' and 'how to connect the pause to the release of hostages.'

His comments came as Israel's Defense Minister Gallant reportedly him Israel wouldn't agree to any pause that does not also include the release of hostages.
