has banned its Cinco de Mayo parade after gangs opened fire just a little more than an hour into the celebration. The Chicago Police Department responded to the parade that started at 12pm near Damen Avenue and Cermak Road on Sunday. By 1.30pm, CPD announced that the parade was canceled 'out of an abundance of caution' due to 'gang violence in the area.'
