Children suffering from cancer who have been forced to shelter in Ukrainian hospital basements will not survive unless they are able to evacuate to specialist centres where they can continue their treatment, doctors have warned.
For the young cancer patients, their treatments have been interrupted after they were quickly moved to the basement of a children's hospital in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv as a result of shelling by the invading Russian troops.
Doctors and nurses, who are only able to provide a basic form of chemotherapy due to a lack of supplies, fear a lack of treatment will mean the children will get sicker and some will not survive.
