College students are being paid an eye-popping $150-an-hour to intern at Wall Street firms, as widespread layoffs in tech push them towards finance jobs instead.The median pay for interns working in finance leapt by 19% this year, according to Levels.fyi analysis of the top 16 firms - while tech companies embarked on a redundancy spree at the start of this year. Recent estimates for the average hourly wage in the US range from $25 to $28, meaning the top-earning Wall Street interns are scooping around six times more than the average American - and many are for students still at college.
