The number of international students remaining in the US after finishing their degree has risen to around 200,000 per year. The increase has been fueled by more relaxed visa policies from a succession of and Republican presidents.New data from the Institute of International Education, a State Department agency showed there were more than a million international students currently in the United States, with more than 800,000 enrolled in college and almost 200,000 participating in the government's Optional Practical Training program.
