The House remains at a standstill with no progress made over the weekend on the stalemate that has prevented legislation from moving since Wednesday. Three aides to lawmakers involved in the blockade confirmed they had not heard from Speaker over the weekend and were waiting to hear what he would offer them in exchange for allowing votes to move forward. McCarthy sent lawmakers home early last week when 11 hardline tanked a normally mundane rule vote to move gas stove legislation forward. Many of the 11 said they would continue to block all legislation from advancing in the House until they secured written commitments from the speaker.
