Conservatives excited by Fauci's promise to leave White House

reacted with glee Sunday after top White House doc revealed he would resign from his post if gets reelected in 2024.

Speaking to 's Jim Acosta Sunday, Fauci - who became the face of the federal government's fight against the coronavirus in 2020 - left no doubt when asked if he would remain as the White House chief medical adviser if Trump runs successfully.

Acosta, 51, asked: If Trump were to return to the White House as president, and COVID is still a threat or there is some other public health emergency, would you have confidence in his ability... to deal with a pandemic of this nature?
