Tech startup founder Mehran Jalali, 21, staged a pop-up night this weekend for more than a hundred guests who believed they'd gotten off the years-long waitlist - after the keen home cook jokingly marked his apartment as an eatery on Google Maps, racking up rave reviews from his friends. About 140 diners turned up to a swanky venue in the East Village on Saturday night only to discover Mehran's Steakhouse had in actual fact been a prank - but one that was so successful there could be more in the cards.
