A woman who was unable to make it to her reservation due to the ongoing wildfire was refused a refund, with the company claiming that the inferno was not covered by its 'major disruptive events policy'. Finance executive Ana Mostarac contacted Airbnb to request help with re-booking accommodation farther away from the danger zone after the enormous blaze in the Pacific Palisades forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of people.But in a screenshot posted to her X account, Mostarac showed how the online booking service informed her that her would-be Airbnb host's 'strict cancellation policy' still applied despite a state of emergency being declared by the LA City Council President last night.
