The prosecution rested in the trial of Richard Allen for the murder of Delphi teenagers Liberty German and Abigail Williams on Thursday afternoon.
After 12 days and 40 witnesses prosecutor Nick McLeland announced, ‘The State of Indiana rests,’ in Carroll County Court at 3.55pm. His final act had been to introduce into evidence searches about the crimes and investigation conducted from Allen’s account.
McLeland’s move came at the end of a day of powerful testimony during which the state damned Allen, 52, with his own words and, they alleged, his own voice and revealed he had confessed a detail, ‘only the killer could have known.’
