A long-standing ally of 's governor, Ron , has been named administrator of the newly-created district that encompasses Disney World, and given wide-ranging powers to wreak havoc on the theme park.Glen Gilzean's appointment was approved by the board of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District on Wednesday. The District was created in February as a replacement for the Reedy Creek Improvement District - a self-governing zone founded in 1967, but dismantled amid DeSantis's attack on Disney's '' policies.Gilzean will be the point person for the state of Florida in their legal battles with Disney.
