's lawyers on Monday night filed a motion to delay his trial on mishandling classified information, potentially pushing the case back until after the 2024 election. The 77-year-old's lawyers asked the judge in to give them more time, arguing that the unprecedented case requires 'a measured consideration and timeline.' An initial date had been set by Judge Aileen Cannon of August 14. Prosecutors then asked for that to be pushed back to December, to give Trump's legal team the time needed to get the required security clearances.
