Former President 's classified documents trial will take place in May, in a blow to the ex-president who wanted it delayed until after the 2024 presidential election. The Trump-appointed judge Aileen Cannon set jury selection to begin on May 14, with a two-week trial to kick off on May 20. Prosecutors had wanted the trial to take place in December, but Cannon signaled Tuesday that she thought the timeline was too 'compressed' for a trial that involved classified materials.
